9-11 by Leana Macrito
The day the twin towers came crashing down,
It nearly gave everyone a really big frown.
How dumb could they be to do such a thing,
My ears were ringing and my heart was stinging.
I was watching the news at that very time,
I couldn’t speak and I felt like a mime.
Today it still pierces my heart to hear,
That some people still have lots of tears.
I feel very sorry that all those peopled died,
I used to just sit there and cry.
I try to put it all in the past,
But it catches up to me very fast.
I wrote this poem in memory of the 9-11 attack on America.
List of “Don’t Forgets” and “Remembers”
We were eight.
Before September 11th, we would wake up with a list of “Don’t Forgets”
Don’t forget to wash your face
Don’t forget to brush your teeth
Don’t forget to do your homework
Don’t forget to wear your jacket
Don’t forget to clean your room
Don’t forget to take a bath
After September 11th, we wake up with a list of “Remembers”
Remember to greet the sun each morning
Remember to enjoy every meal
Remember to thank your parents for their hard work
Remember to honor those who keep you safe
Remember to value each person you meet
Remember to respect other’s beliefs
Now we are nine.
Osama Bin Laden By Sasha Taylor
We must catch this deadly murderer,
That killed so many of our own kind.
If he thinks he’s getting away with this,
He’s lost his mind.
We sat and watched him so many times,
Get away with acts just like these.
He’s not getting away with it this time,
He’s committed too many of these deeds.
This time he went a little too far.
Were putting up a fight,
He needs to know this time.
The U.S. is right,
He can’t hide out.
Well get him soon enough.
He’s learning now were independent and strong,
This U.S. is tough.
Maybe he’ll surrender,
And come out and confess.
Maybe, only if he was smart,
He’d know that’s what’s best.
